These textures focus on the scale from light to dark and the steps it takes to get there. They are seen to be used to create, complicate, hide, join, extend, compact and discontinue spaces within or on the monuments. Darker textures may be used to reduce the amount of light a surface may project, and vice versa for lighter textures whilst also creating a feature or ornament for the area.
Below is a palette of six main ideas developed from light to dark within six steps.
From this I have chosen three textures (one light, one medium and one dark) to apply within my model to particularly significant faces and these are seen below.
